Tapping machine...

I need a small project that can be finished soon..!, So last week I made a start with rebuilding my little tapping machine. First thing I did was removing all the old layers of rust and paint from the main shaft, the footplate and the table and made it all nice and smooth again. Ready for painting...! But before that, I first have to add some "tapper-pages" to this site I think........ There's nothing to see yet..! Watch my progress...

Lorch Schmidt lathe added to my collection

No, no, no, no !.........I promised myself not to buy any more lathes this year ! Instead of that I planned to put more energy in finding an old camelback drillpress ! I still haven't found a decent one, so that's the thing to focus on right now ! But what would you do if a beauty like this shows up within 25 km from your home.....Yes!... ofcourse...BUY IT! So I did..... It's an old Lorch Schmidt heavy plainturning lathe from the early 1900. Complete with original driveshaft and on its original makers stand. This week I picked it up and gave it it's own little place in my shop and ofcourse on this website. You can see some first pictures in the "Lorch Schmidt" section of this site. Have fun...!

New "Blog-style" site layout

Well... I have done a lot of constructionwork lately.... not on the machinery or the workshop but on my website. As you can see I've changed the site-layout into a more "bloggy style". I think this is a much faster and up to date way of publishing my latest news to everyone. It's much easier now to share all my experiences, problems, fun, disaster, buying, selling, building, cleaning, painting... etc. etc. etc. with the rest of the world... I hope you like it just as much as I do and I'll try to write as much as possible and keep you informed about my progress..... Have fun !!!!
